Rainbow Days, Inc.

As COVID-19 impacts North Texas, Rainbow Days remains committed to the children, families and communities we serve. Many of those served by Rainbow Days are already some of the most vulnerable in our community, which is compounded by the fallout from COVID-19. Through this, Rainbow Days remains nimble, flexible and creative in how we can continue to provide our services to those who need them most. We are adapting new methods of service delivery, increasing critical need services and creating new content so we can best meet the important needs of those we serve, including the following:

Project Hope Food Program - We are continuing our monthly delivery of fresh food, meals and staples to low-income families residing in area motels. Additionally, due to the current health crisis, we are expanding the program by making deliveries twice a month to families currently enrolled in the program. We are also responding to the increased need in the community by working with the Dallas ISD Homeless Education Program to expand the program by identifying and serving more families in need.

Virtual Lessons for Students in Community Connection, our School-Based Program - We are exploring ways to make virtual connections with our students so they continue to receive emotional and mental health support from our staff.

Tangible Lessons & Activities for Children in Family Connection, our Shelter-Based Program - We are in the process of designing care packages, which will include session reminders, tangible items and supplies, to deliver to children, parents and staff in the shelters to support their emotional and mental health during this time.

HOW YOU CAN HELP: In addition to monetary donations, which allow us flexibility to meet needs, we are seeking in-kind donations to benefit the low-income families and children we serve. Please contact katyc@rainbowdays.org if you are interested in donating any of the following items during this difficult time.

1) Cleaning supplies: anti-bacterial wipes, hand sanitizer, soap, etc.
