Ability Connection’s mission is to enrich the lives of people with disabilities by providing world-class services for each individual and their family. Over 3 million Texans live with a disability. Persons who suffer from a disability require daily medical care, treatment and therapies.
We are one of the few providers in Dallas that serve individuals with significant disabilities. Because we are an essential provider of these services, we must remain open.
The Covid-19 crisis has greatly impacted our staff and our members (clients). To reduce the spread of the virus we have closed our training centers indefinitely. Training Centers are day habilitation centers that provide essential specialized therapies, life skills, social inclusion and integration. Members are accustomed to attending the Centers Monday-Friday. This gives them a safe and reliable place to go as well as their caregivers a break.
Additionally we have seven group homes in the Metroplex. Our homes allow individuals to live with as much autonomy and independence as possible, while providing 24-hour care for our residents. Ability Connection currently has four HCS (Home and Community Based Service) homes and three ICF (Intermediate Care Facility) homes in the Dallas area.
