Thank you for your interest in the North Texas Food Bank’s emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic in our community. The mission of the North Texas Food Bank is to close the hunger gap in North Texas by providing access to nutritious food. We serve food-insecure children, families, seniors and individuals from all backgrounds. We expect to provide hungry North Texans with access to 82 million nutritious meals this year, including meals accessed through SNAP application assistance. We are deeply grateful for your compassion and willingness to help during this crisis.
To address the COVID-19 pandemic, NTFB is collaborating with disaster relief partners at the national, state and local level to monitor and respond to the rapidly evolving health crisis. The most urgent need of the food bank at this time is for unrestricted funding, which allows NTFB to more easily adjust our strategy as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves. We are already experiencing increased demand, and distributing 40 percent more food to our Partner Agencies. Donations can be made at https://ntfb.org/donate
Our Feeding Network continues to serve as the first line of defense for parents and kids in need of extra resources. Families can locate food pantries and feeding programs in their zip code through this link which is updated daily: https://ntfb.org/our-programs/get-food-assistance/find-a-food-pantry
We also have a need for in-kind donations of nutritious food. NTFB is asking for those who are able to consider doing a “Focused Food Drive” in which you would work to gather a single type of item to provide to NTFB. Our most needed items include:
• Canned Tuna or Chicken
• Peanut Butter
• Cereal Bars
• Canned Fruit in juice
To drop off donations from your focused food drive, visit us at our Perot Family Campus at 3677 Mapleshade Lane Plano Texas, 75075.
Our hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
